I honestly don't care about this. DC doesn't need Superman. Because if he goes, you know what will happen..... BATMAN WILL BECOME THE DC UNIVERSES MAIN HERO!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!
Do you read comics? If you don't this will most likely not effect you as you (presumably) only watch Batman series. But DC comics is much more intricate. Superman is the DC universe's strongest hero, the most powerful one, and the leader of the Justice League. Batman may be a favorite to some, but without Superman his role will be different. Why? Let's look at it this way. Batman is loved by his fans because he is localized (Gotham) and realistic (e.g: only works on Earth). So writers want to do just that (write realistic stories). Superman is DC's go-to-guy for the paranormal. He handles demons, ghosts, monsters, aliens, robots, etc. Being an alien and having Superpower's is why he is a good character for this. Now, let's imagine DC without Superman. Someone has to fill in for him. Who does DC pick? Well the second most popular of course! BATMAN! Hal Jordon and the lanterns already have their own issues, so Earth's only paranormal hero is Batman. Soon we'll see Batman flying in a space ship throughout the galaxy. Or Batman fighting magical trolls in the Phantom Zone. Maybe even have him get Superpowers! Sound familiar? It's the Golden/Silver age all over again. See why Superman's death will be a problem? It's not only localized to Superman, it effects everyone. (Even you Deathstroke fans)
Your over reacting...Besides his fate has been decided its confirmed they still have superman they just don't have the costume (I made a thread about it). Besides batman isn't the one they would upgrade to handle superman's threats they would probably pick wonder woman or orion (probably wonder woman). Besides its been announced DC hasn't lost superman however they have changed the costume. Besides if he did leave DC they wouldn't go that far, wonder woman is a perfect superman replacement to be honest. It would be bad but not as bad as you describe it to be. Here is the thread where it is revealed what has happened to DC viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2896§elices wrote:jashro wrote:timetogoultimate wrote:So why would they do such a thing like sell Superman to Disney! It would be out of place! Hell what would DC do to Lex Luther or Bizarro in which DC has the rights too! This is insane! Any news from the homefront lads.
DC keeps the rights to his rouges, and this is the worst case scenario we are talking about. We don't know what will happen if DC loses

This means one less comic involving batman...Also superman is really the only being with god like powers batman has battled and beaten. Batman wont look as awesome gong up against wonder woman or captain marvel (or captain lighting as he will soon be called) or Orion all the time now will he? No amount of kyrptimite can save batman from those 3.

So how do you know Captain Marvel will be called Captain Lightning? If he will be called this why is that?
Flash: Absolutely. Still, we could always use more raw power. And Earth has a third Green Lantern, Guy Gardner... Hal Jordan/John Stewart: No. Flash: But we could really... Hal Jordan/John Stewart: No!

Its just a rumor I forget where I heard it. Its rumored because DC can't use the title Captain marvel because of copy right laws. They have been calling his title Shazam for a while now, so DC may just change it to Captain Lightning so they can use his name in the title rather then using a supporting characters name in the title.

But he came first. MARVEL has his name in their company name. If I called my character Donald McDonald would I get a lawsuit? Is it illegal to use the world marvel from now on? Maybe we should just trademark every English word and communicate in sign language. But even then we have the Vulcan Salute, and Paramount won't be happy if we use it!
I'm just joking of course, but I think it's stupid. If anyone is changing their name it should be MARVEL.

He still has the name Captain Marvel they just are choosing to change it to captain lightning so they can put his name in title with that whole DC revamp thing they got going on. Its only a rumor they may not change his name. All though the revamp is official for every DC character

The only point that I really agree with here, is that it would be contrived to give Batman superpowers on the level of Superman, as stated above, and that Superman's disappearance would make Batman look (a bit, in my book) less bad ass. But at the same time, you guys are dead wrong in terms of how *popular* Batman is. Batman is much more popular than Superman. If you look at merchandise/movies, etc. sales on an overall scale, trumps Superman's. In fact, the only reason a Batman movie is isn't the worlds most successful movie, is because of that piece of shit Avatar (which I might mention for the hell of it, is not a Superman movie ). (Btw Im well versed in DC's continuity and I was half joking at the time of the original comment.)
I want to be.... Much than more.

I never said any thing about popularity....I just said batman comes out looking good after holding his own with superman & is supes gets removed and replaced with wonder woman, orion or captain marvel then he wont be able to kick there asses. Besides its been confirmed superman wont be leaving DC is revamping there universe. He is getting a costume change though
