If anything it's grossly UNDERrated,it's an amazing show and way too few people have heard of it.

I disagree, so made people know it, as a number one rated show it gets too much hype and it's not as great as people make it out to be.

I don't think so. Everything people like about A:TLAB is done well in the series. Name one thing that is "over-hyped.

The romance in the series is really poorly done, no one ever dies in this war though that is to be excepted in a kids show. Some inconsistent character development. Why did Zuko betray Iroh if it seemed he was turning around in season 2 ??? Plus it's WAY too dependent on continuity rather than character

"no one ever dies"

-Incorrect, Kya, Jet, Zhao, Combustion Man, Lu Ten, Gyatso, and the Entire Air Nomads are killed during the course of the show.

"Why did Zuko betray Iroh"

-He was at a crossroads in his life. He had not yet chosen his path. It came time to chose, and he chose wrongly.

"Plus it's WAY too dependent on continuity rather than character"

-What?

forgot about those but no one actually dies during the 3rd season finale, how does that make sense??

I guess but it feels like a step backwards after all that build up

excuse, I guess I was trying too say it is too linear for me

Avatar developed almost every single character deeply in just 3 seasons, there are series that don't get so deep into the characters in hundreds of episodes.Ben 10 for example has pretty much the same characterization deepness or less and it's at season 10 (4 season OS,3 seasons AF,3 seasons UA).
And the linear nature of the series fits it perfectly,it's a quest around the world to master the 4 elements and stop a war.And pretty much everybody loves linear series.
I said the series is grossly underrated because you hardly find somebody who watches it while Naruto (while still good,it has many fillers) or Pokemon is known by everybody.
Dude, there where 2 mass murders (Air Nomads and the Water Tribe) and you complain about the lack of death?!   The whole Northen Water Tribe was attacked with the intention of killing all of them,Aang used his Avatar powers and completely eliminated the threat. The Earth Kingdom would have been completely removed from the face of the Earth if Aang didn't stop the Fire Nation.
People don't die most of the time because...why would they?Find one example where someone could have died and they came back to life or where saved miraculously.

Now here's the character development is sometimes too obvious, and that's also what I find in alot of anime, obvious character development that's not worth watching. Of course in Ben 10 the characterization isn't too deep, it isn't like the characters were scarred teens with a bad past, maybe Kevin but they won't rely on it, it's very similar to James Bond or Batman, they don't change every episode but they don't have too, the conflict there in does. For example, they didn't need to change in Ben 10,000 Returns, but the team learned about cross time and the guest characters Ben 10,000, Eon and Paradox probably showed the most change. This goes for a number of Ben 10 episodes. It's Not So Easy Being Gwen illuminates Gwen, not trying to radically change her, but to show her daily life and a struggle to keep her life together.

I find it lazy for the viewer to easily view something in a big picture fashion

Maybe it's where you live, but in my case everyone under the sun praises the show including the armies of fans online

I'm just being realistic here, war has cost, this is something that was even discussed in another forum about the finale

Why should they have died? Is there a rule that in every confrontation in every TV show a character must die? They got very lucky. Toph and Sokka nearly fell several hundred feet to their death, but were saved by timely intervention by Suki. Zuko was on the brink of death, but he managed to be healed because it was not too late.

So you prefer no characterization to obvious characterization?
