Good question. I thnk Dwayne said Static's power and control would improve as he got older and more experience. It might take him a long time to reach those levels, but I think it's definitely within his abilities.

I just read the first few chapters of "Rebirth of the Cool". Can somebody explain what happened at the Big Bang? Who were the flying people?
Dwayne was a great man. He went out of his way to do the tedious task of answer our questions, even the stupid ones. He came up with masterpieces. One things for sure, his legacy will live on. Here's to Dwayne.

The flying people were probably SYSTEMatics, agents of the SYSTEM conspiracy, in armoured suits. They were most likely the ones working for the rather creepy 'Mom', as she was shown to have lots of Bang Baby corpses in Blood Syndicate. They were aware of what the tear gas would do, and were there to collect kids who had been given powers or mutations.

I read about the Big Bang in Rebirth of the cool. It was told in a flashback and it moved very fast and was confusingly. one second Virg was coughing, the next he was fighting a robot monster. Can someone tell me if that was the comic it first appeared in and maybe a short summary of what happened?

As I recall a riot got sprayed with some pepper spray with a radioactive element in it ment to let the cops track you down later. It went wrong in a bad way the city pretended they never sprayed a thing. Those that survived where bang babies.

The Big Bang was seen from different angles in Blood Syndicate, Icon and Shadow Cabinet. A brief summary would begin with Dharma, leader of the Shadow Cabinet, forseeing that the Bang Babies were instrumental in preventing the apocalypse he had forseen. He engineered / did not prevent an opportunity for the substance known as 'Quantum Juice' to be added to the tear gas used at the Big Bang, which was being used by SYSTEM to create Bang Babies to harvest and experiment on. Icon investigated the Big Bang, and eventually brought many of the perpetrators to justice, with the assistance of the Bang Babies Static, Wise Son and Payback. There's a lot more detail to be added, but I don't want to spoil any of those stories for you, if you get a chance to read them, or if they make it to TPB.

Icon #20, explaining everything about the Big Bang, will be in the next Icon trade paperback, "Mothership Connection."

Excellent! I'm glad I didn't go into too much detail, then.

Another question about Static's powers again. Would it be possible for Static to ride the Earths magnetic lines? It could be a faster way of traveling around the globe in minutes.
