somebody should definitely go through and archive the Ask Maestro threads, both the one here and the old ones. His answers are a wealth of info that shouldn't be lost.

its locked but i went to a thread called starters help and got this i think its how he became a writer i don't know

What I was saying is that I have been writing a script and just wanted to know how to get the attention of the major television networks so they would see it.

If it's for n original series, wait. You need to build a track record as a dependable professional before any network will take your work seriously, even if it's outstanding. Here's what you have to do:

Write some spec scripts.

Get an agent.

Work on an existing series or three.

Learn the production side of the business.

Develop a good reputation and relationships with people in the industry.

Use your contacts in the business to figure out who to pitch, and then pitch them.

This will take years, but so does anything worth doing.

I don't think the thread being locked would prevent someone from copying some of the posts and backing them up somewhere. I'm mostly concerned with the loss of information that would occur if this site goes away.

yea it does i tried it i could copy and paste it without the quote but that would mean jumbling some info...

Wait, guys, have you thought of contacting phpBB (the forum manager) and asking them if it is possible/how to "back up" an entire thread??
