I thought it was a steampunk world. How would they have cars and motorcycles in a society that uses steampower? This is supposed to be 100 years after Aang's time, so how does a civilization go from bronze age technology, to 1900s technology?
There are cars in certain steam punk worlds. They didn't have bronze age technology, they had Tanks, Airships, Trains, Submarines, Giant Drills, used steel often, most of it was Fire Nation, but with the end of The War the technology was most likely shared. Also, the idea of cars in Avatar isn't exactly new. Look here:
